Everyone needs a break now and again. STA allows you to have some space, time to yourself or get away from the daily routine for a little while. This is a healthy and important part of the long-term caring relationship you have with your family and caregivers. Flintwood is here to support both you and your support network, respite being an important part of this.
While at STA, you could be involved in a number of activities, these could include recreation and leisure activities or be more learning-based.
STA could mean getting out and about with a trip to the local shops, movies, the pool or the beach, it could be a picnic in a National Park or lunch at a café.
It also gives you a chance to learn new skills in a group environment and our staff can guide you as you learn personal and independence skills in one of our respite locations.
STA is a fun break from the day-to-day routine. We’re interested in hearing about what you like to do in your spare time so we can expand our services to meet your individualised needs.
STA also provides the opportunity to spend time with people you may have met before at a Flintwood location or activity. We are keen to assist you in developing strong relationships with the people you meet during your time in respite.
