Terms and Conditions

  1. The purpose of the art competition

Flintwood is launching the Abstract All Abilities Art Competition to highlight and celebrate the diverse talents of people with disability.

  1. Eligibility criteria

This art competition is specifically open to residents living in the Local Government Areas. These residents must be individuals who identify as living with disability and are between the ages of seventeen (17) and sixty-five (65). Artworks entered must be the original work of the artist. Copies of existing artworks will not be accepted. You warrant that the artwork does not breach any copyright laws in Australia or in another country. Any breach of copyright laws by you will be your responsibility.

 

  1. Subject

Artists entering the competition can select a subject of their choice. There is no theme to this year’s competition.

 

  1. Medium

Accepted entries must fall under the category of painting, photography, drawing, sculpture, and digital works. Other art mediums are not being accepted for the purposes of this competition.

 

  1. Submission of entries

Entries open on 10 March 2026 and close on 8 June 2026 at 11:59pm. To enter, complete the entry form, including uploading a clear photograph of your artwork. Please note that by making a submission to this competition you acknowledge that any artwork sent will be stored by Flintwood for the purposes of the competition. This may also include using the artworks in current and future promotional materials.

 

  1. Exhibition selection process

To showcase winners and finalists of the competition, Flintwood will be hosting gallery exhibitions within our local area. The exhibitions are planned to be delivered in galleries during July 2026, Flintwood may change exhibition arrangements without notice. Finalists and winners will be contacted and invited to deliver their physical artworks to Flintwood’s head office in Castle Hill, for the purposes of the galleries. In the event that the exhibitions cannot take place, an online event may be hosted on Flintwood’ Facebook page.

 

  1. Prizes

Submissions to the competition will enter a first round of judging by a panel between 9 and 11 June 2026. Finalists determined from this round will move to a second round where the public will vote to determine winners of the competition. Public voting will open on Flintwood Facebook page at 11.59am on 12 June 2026 and will close at 11.59am on 30 June 2026. Overall winners will fall under two (2) categories which include 13-17 Years, and 18 and Over. At the conclusion of the competition, artists who receive overall the most votes in the public voting will receive a prize valued at $200. For 13-17 Years category the prize will be an art pack valued up to $200, for the 18 Years and Over category, the prize will be a $200 voucher.

 

  1. Care and responsibility

All reasonable care will be taken by Flintwood, however we take no responsibility for loss or damage whatsoever to artworks while in transit or in the custody of Flintwood; Flintwood is not responsible for obtaining insurance in respect of the artworks.

 

  1. Artwork Sales

During the gallery exhibitions, some of the artwork displayed may be available for purchase. Flintwood staff can take expressions of interest of interested buyers and forward this to the artist, we will not be involved in the artwork sale process. The transfer of money / artwork will be the responsibility of the artist and the buyer.

 

  1. Collection of art works after prize/exhibition

All art works must be collected from the office they were delivered to on or prior to 30 July 2026. After 30 July 2026, Flintwood is under no obligation to keep or store the artworks. Artworks that remain uncollected during the designated period, may become the property of Flintwood unless alternate arrangements are made by the artist or their representative.

 

  1. Use of Personal Information

By entering the competition, you are providing personal information to Flintwood. Personal information is collected by Flintwood to process and consider your entry. Without personal information we could not process your entry. The personal information you provide by entering this competition will not usually be provided to anyone else.
